Who are we?

Hi, I'm Lazaros Viastikopoulos, but everyone calls me Laz— it's much easier!

With over 12 years specialising in business intelligence and Power BI, I've helped 100+ organisations transform raw data into actionable insights. I embarked on my journey as a BI Developer, fuelled by a passion and curiosity for transforming raw data into meaningful insights. This led me from being an in-house developer and analyst in various roles to transitioning into consulting.

While working as Power BI Practice Lead at Telefonica Tech Data & AI - following their acquisition of Adatis, a Microsoft Gold Partner and Advanced Specialisation holder in Data Analytics - I established and scaled a Power BI practice from the ground up, leading multiple teams of consultants and developing proven governance frameworks and optimisation methodologies that were successfully implemented across enterprise organisations throughout the UK. Through these experiences, I came to understand the challenges UK businesses face when trying to make sense of their data - the complexity, frustration, and countless hours spent extracting valuable insights.

That same passion and curiosity that sparked my career over a decade ago still drives me today. It was this drive that inspired me to leave a comfortable role and start Metis BI - a UK specialist of Power BI consultancy. My goal is simple, to offer solutions that create real value for those I work with, and to do it my way- through trust, transparency, and honesty.

I am also thrilled that Paola Dyankova has joined Metis BI as VP of Sales & Marketing. Paola led strategic enterprise accounts at Meta (Facebook), managing Fortune 500 clients for Workplace and Quest for Business. Her 10+years navigating complex enterprise sales cycles and understanding large-scale organisational needs perfectly complements my technical background, ensuring our clients receive exceptional guidance from first engagement through solution delivery and beyond.
